Kimchi Panettone

According to a press release, LG Electronics of Korea – makers of a vast array of consumer electronics and Prada – the luxury goods label, announced a partnership to produce a mobile phone.  The success of the LG “Chocolate” may have prompted the stylish Italian driven Dutch owned company to delve into the mobile phone market.  [Link]

Like the LG Chocolate, this style phone will have to be produced in a few flavors:

CDMA for NAFTA other countries like South Korea (LG’s Homeland), India, Taiwan, and New Zealand.  (i.e vx8500 or the LG Chocolate for Verizon Wireless)

GSM for the rest of the world, and like may other LG phones in the past.  One GSM handset for Euro Asia/Pac tri-band and another for NAFTA tri-band.

UMTS/WCDMA for the one market that would go ape-shit over a Prada phone is the Japanese market.  For those luxury-mongers in Japan a limited edition Japan only Prada-keitai would garner top yen for fashionistas.  LGE would stand to gain marketshare since the major foreign cell phone makers in Japan right now are Samsung (S Korea) and Nokia (Finland).

I for one am not impressed by this move.  The fact that Prada went with a Korean company instead of the obvious European choices confuses me, but I am tickled just thinking about what they should call the new phone.

Korea – land of kimchi, salt and chili cured vegetables and seafood
Prada – Milan based company.  Milan known for the sweet Christmas cake panettone.

The LG Kimchi Panettone and the LG Chocolate, what flavor are you?

I have only a few more hours to myself. I’m staring out the window at tree limbs slightly swaying to the quiet whistle of the wind. The babbling of the fish tank inside the apartment and my breathing is the only constant sound I hear.

I made coffee, smoked a few cigarettes. I made a hearty breakfast out of what was left in the refrigerator all without consulting anyone or considering their tastes or preferences. I’m strangely amused by the sound of my spoon hitting the plate as I eat.

The relative silence of everything is cleansing my brain and I enjoy it like a good soak in the tub. I know that in a few hours the world will begin again, chatting at me, wanting information, trying to enjoy my company. I want this stillness to last. I don’t want this sunlight pouring into my eyes to end. It’s nice to be alone

confessions of a husky boy: Coffee Crisp

coffee_crisp.jpg

When selecting a bag of M&Ms from the vending machine, I noticed a
sweetly familiar site. Squatting down on my heels to take a better
look… I saw my childhood flash before my eyes. Oh my sweet Jesus,
Coffee Crisp is in the United States. As you may or may not know, I
grew up in Canada and some of my fondest memories are tied to food.

I did not realize that there was a grass roots effort to get the
Canadian confection over the great white border. [link] Had I
known… I would have been a vocal supporter to get Nestle to get my
sweet treat over here a long time ago.

Zu Zu Zudeo

Zudeo, sharing-up large (and I mean large) media files to the masses.
I’m going to forego coming up with a witticism based on pre-existing Web 2.0 applications to help describe what Zudeo does. The good folks at Azureus launched this website in partnership with television and film studios this morning. Visit the site and you’ll notice an array of thumbnails which jump to magnet links for Azureus to download. In true P2P style media files zip to your machine and hopefully if enough nodes out there are sharing, all you punters out there that don’t like to seed won’t be such a burden.

Now, where’s the porn version of Zudeo….
ZNudeo? ZDudeo? Look at me … I’m a marketing and branding genius
