Ok, so I don’t need any more furniture, but this is more than just a piece of furniture. This is one of Panton/Vitra’s first chairs which is still a mainstay of many designistas. This is marked as limited edition, but is selling for the same price as the other colors.

There is a small amount of retro charm in this watch. Though not meant for mass appeal, to those that find this cool, I tip my hipster faux-ronic black velvet pork-pie hat.

Chemex Handblown Water Vessel

Earlier this year, a writer on Slate.com reviewed the most efficient ways of getting hot water. I’ve had a cafeteriere (french press) for a while, and have been muddling with boiling water on the stove. Since the price of electricity isn’t going up as rapidly as natural gas, ideally I’d go for the electric kettle. No no no, sacrificing style for efficiency I’m going for the next to the worst performer in the list. The Chemex Handblown thermal glass carafe was designed in the mid-1940s. Sure it has no whistle, fragile, and gets too hot to hande… but it’s so beautiful.
