warning, lack of sleep impacts fashion sense

I stayed up much too late last night and did not go to bed until… well let’s just say I had less than two hours of sleep.  I rushed to get to work and I discovered, my outfit is rubbish.  Whatever possessed me to pair these shirts with this pant and shoe selection is beyond me.  My top half looks fun and young, ready for rock and roll (circa 1998); but I’m wearing heather grey dress trousers and black driving moccasins.  Losing the plaid shirt (and maybe 20 pounds) I could look like a young hip rocker in just the black graphic T-shirt, grey trousers, and black funky shoes… but it’s not corporate enough.

Had I time and mental capacity to do it over, I’d probably choose an earth-tone pant to go with the browns of my shirt thereby changing the whole black/tan dynamic, forcing a change of the shoes, watch, and necklace.  Alas, my wardrobe is thirty-five miles away and I’ll be damned if I’m going to be one of those people that wear articles of clothing out of Wal*Mart.

malaise

work is really bringing me down and there seems to be nothing to cheer me up.  i am being challenged and i am not complaining about my work load, but spending the day firing on all cylinders can become taxing.  even as i write this, i can’t even be bothered to hit the shift key.  cloistered in my cube, it is possible for me to work a full day without speaking a single  word.  the constant nattering from developers popping up on my screen asking obscure questions about things that they claimed to have experience with in their skill set is wearing away what decorum i have left.  i guarantee you by the time this is posted, i’ll be softly weeping into my chat-worn hands…

new home

I now have a new home thanks to the faery prince at macboyx.com! This site no longer runs on my trusty 17-inch iMac which is sad in a way but now I don’t have to scrutinize my IPCop logs or dabble in dns chicanery. Update your rss aggregators kids, er I guess I should post an article to the old rss feed for those who are using the old bodged dns name. I have learned a lot from hosting sites on my own hardware, but I guess it’s time to step up to a real hosting site.

PSBTW: This posting was made from the breezy outdoors of Riverside Park.

bye bye textamerica

According to a posting on boinboing, [link], the moblogging site — TextAmerica will be going pay only. The capitalist commerce monger that I am can’t be too offended by this move. Websites that host communities of bloggers and mobologgers need to pay for bandwidth somehow, and my lazy ass ain’t helping. I don’t click on ads in moblogs and I could hardly justify the current pay structure 6.99/month or 69.99/year. So, what’s a boy with three cameraphones in his purse supposed to do?
