Today it was announced that the Tavis Smilye (meh) weekly show and This American Life will return to the air on WDET.
It’s been a few years since they piped talk through their towers. I have a feeling that a funding blunder caused them to only play in-house produced shows. With a new general manager and a new mix of traditional pledging and online auctions as revenue streams, I think we’re gaining back a more full-service public radio station.
Yay, I turned on the radio on the way home today. Lo and behold, the Roundup hosted by Tetsuro Shigimatsu was on! Oh blessed Canadian culture pouring forth from my dashboard. My commute doesn’t seem too bad now. I’m now reconsidering taking the bus.
Today Apple didn’t launch a video ipod, but a thinner sleeker ipod featuring video. I already own two versions of the second generation iMac so I’m trying not to be duped by the new version of the G5 iMac. I want one, but I don’t need one.
I mentioned in the previous post that I’ve been having PowerBook problems, so I’ve been waiting for today for a refresh of the PowerBook line. This would have meant the top-of-the-line PowerBook yesterday would have been on the top of the affordable albeit refurbished list.
So, once apple.com website recovers from its torrent of mac-zealots ordering new products, I’ll be posting my order for a 2-year old laptop.

It was time for Mr The Kitty and I to go seepies. He sat at the end of the bed and his eyes were illuminated by the television.
